Next Meeting: UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 29

We have a confirmed room at Full Sail next Tuesday September 28. Let's get the word out!

Molly, could you promote this on Facebook and wherever else you think might be good.

If our board members could arrive between 6:30 -6:45 that would be great.

Karen, our membership director will need to wait at the front door to let our members in the building and sign them in.

I would like to begin the meeting with discussing our plans for the next 3 months including the Christmas Party.

Jeff Bova from Photomart will be attending he just wants to sit in this time, and we plan on having him for our October meeting.

7:15-8 Whats in your camera bag.
8:00-9 Same day edit.
9:30-? Ale House - Food & Drinks

UPDATE:  Room change again. Bldg 3B Room 131!  The building with big glass windows  Sorry for the confusion but we are at the mercy of Full Sail and availability.

PVCF August Meeting Highlights

The August regular meeting was held at the Orange County Public Library. Topic of discussion was the recent WEVA Expo. Michael Angelo passed on a few highlights from the sessions, including:

The 5-Minute Rule. Spend the first five minutes of your initial consultation with a client talking about...the client. Get them talking about themselves and their event. Avoid discussing pricing or anything that has to do with gear and technique.

Do your own thing. Figure out what you do best and do it. Don't try to emulate what everyone else is doing. Find your niche, whether is is SDE, stylish camera work or destination events.

Price = Value. Make sure your pricing accurately reflects what you are offering. And if you are offering a discount, you should trim an item from your package.

Offer teaser packages to "get them in the door". Don't scare clients away with your biggest package. Give them the opportunity to see your work and allow them the opportunity to upgrade.

In addition to the WEVA discussion, there were some proposals for hands-on workshops, which we will discuss at an upcoming meeting. Bobby also gave an update on possible meeting locations, including Full Sail. Details will be forthcoming.

Website Updated!

It's been in the works for awhile but the website has finally been updated, using the hybrid blog/website format of blogger. Please take a moment to browse the site and report any typos or corrections needed. Pay particular attention to listings in the Member Directory and send any contact information changes.

There will be a few more changes coming, but I think this is a great leap in form and functionality.
