January 2011 Board Meeting Highlights

Board voted to change membership categories and fee structure as follows:

Full Member (Business Owner or Freelance Subcategory) -- $60

Associate Member (An employee/spouse of Full Member) -- $20

Student Member (requires Student ID and recent class schedule) -- $30*

* Full Sail Students are exempt from fee

This eliminates the categories of non-business member, hobbyist, etc.

We will be reverting to the original dues collection date of May 1.

Discussed long-term goals, including broadening the focus to include more diverse facets of video, film and tv production, better emphasizing the needs of the independent video producer who "wears multiple hats".

To better reflect this broader focus, the Board would like to consider a name change (eg. Video Professionals of Central Florida). We would like suggestions for potential new group names from our members.

We also discussed the need for more member participation in the areas of promotion, featured speakers and sponsors.
